TIER REIT Asset Manager Peter Lee Joins District Board of Directors

Houston native and University of Houston alumnus Peter Lee has joined The Energy Corridor District’s Board of Directors, bringing extensive experience in commercial real estate accounting and asset management to the volunteer position.

As asset manager for TIER REIT, Lee oversees 2.2 million square feet of office properties in Houston for the real estate investment trust – including the One, Two and Three Eldridge Place towers at Memorial Drive and Eldridge Parkway in The Energy Corridor District.

All told, Lee has a decade’s worth of experience in commercial real estate accounting and asset management – from overseeing a 12-property portfolio with 5 million square feet for TIER REIT as investment manager, to supervising a team at Hines Interests as a senior project accountant for several Class A commercial properties.

“We’re excited to have someone with Peter’s experience join our board of directors,” says Clark Martinson, executive director for The District. “He represents a property that The District has worked closely with.

“In fact, Eldridge Place has been hosting one of our Enterprise CarShare locations since the program began,” Martinson explains. “And we’re currently designing a major intersection enhancement there as part of the City of Houston’s Memorial Drive reconstruction effort. That intersection project should help make that busy area more walkable and bikeable, and better connect the thousands of employees at Eldridge Place with nearby retail, service businesses and multifamily apartments.”

A “Coog” sports fan, Lee honed his portfolio management skills while earning his Master in Business Administration at the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business. There, Lee was one of only 16 students selected to manage a prestigious, student-run $7 million equity portfolio called the Cougar Investment Fund, LLC. He also earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at UH.

The District’s Board of Directors is all-volunteer, made up of District property owners or their representatives. Board meetings (typically on the second Friday of each month) are open to the public.
